Anastasia Barun
soprano

Anastasia Barun was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

In 2015 she graduated from the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory, St. Petersburg, with Prof. Tamara Novichenko.

During her studies at the conservatory she sang her first roles on the stage of the St. Petersburg Conservatory Theater, including Rosina, Violetta, Iolanta.

In 2017 Anastasia won the third prize at the International G. Ots Competition, in 2015 the second prize at the 2nd Baikal International Opera Competition in Ulan-Ude (Russia), in 2018 the first prize at the 7th International Bul-Bul Competition (Baku, Azerbaijan) .

In 2015-2018 she was a participant in the Young Artist program of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia.
In February 2016 she took part in the exchange program at the Washington National Opera.
In February 2018 she was the participant of the exchange program at the Opera Bastille (Paris).
Anastasia took part in the concert series in the Beethoven Hall of the Bolshoi Theater as a soloist: Anthology of Russian Songs; Russian songs by Mikhail Glinka and Georgy Sviridov; Anthology of Russian classical art songs by Prokofiev, Rachmaninov.

In May 2016 she made her debut on the main stage of the Bolshoi Theater as Ksenia in Musorgsky's Boris Godunov. In the same month she took part in the concert performance of Mozart pieces at the Moscow House of Music. Her repertoire in the Bolshoi Theater includes the following roles: Tibo in Verdi's “Don Carlo”, Varya in Weinberg's “Idiot”. In November 2017 she made her debut at the Bolshoi Theater as Despina ("Cosi fan tutte") and in December 2017 as Gerda from Banevich's opera "The Story of Kai and Gerda" ("The Snow Queen") and as Madama Cortese from Rossini's " Il viaggio a Reims”.

Today Anastasia is a regular guest at the Bolshoi Theater.

Since 2020, Anastasia has been part of the ensemble of the Mikhailovsky Theater (St. Petersburg), where she has already sung roles such as Pamina, Nedda, Countess (“The Marriage of Figaro”).
