Peter Fabig

The bass-baritone Peter Fabig, who was born in Ilmenau, is currently a member of the ensemble in the Upper Austrian Opera Studio at the Landestheater Linz. He studied at the University of Halle, at the Dresden University of Music and privately with Lucja Zarzycka.
He most recently sang MacIrton in Boieldieu's La dame blanche at the Stadttheater Aschaffenburg, Simone in Gianni Schicchi at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden and Curio in Handel's Giulio Cesare in Egitto at the Mittelsächsisches Theater Freiberg, where he later appeared as Mr Kofner in Menotti's The Consul. In the summer of 2019 he made his debut in the title role of Mozart's Marriage of Figaro in Bad Orb. In April 2019 he celebrated his debut as a stand-in at the Semperoper Dresden as Curio in Giulio Cesare. In December 2019 he returned to the Semperoper in the classroom opera “The Thief Who Sings” with the Semper 2. In addition to his engagement in Linz, he can currently be seen again as a guest at the Theater Freiberg in the musical The Count of Monte Cristo.
Peter Fabig was a scholarship holder of the Deutschlandstipendium and a multiple prize winner at the Schloss Rheinsberg Chamber Opera. In the summer of 2021, he traveled to Bayreuth as a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association Dresden and sang in the scholarship holders' concert there.
In Germany he also works in the song and concert sector. His next projects include Schubert's Winter Journey in Leipzig and Bach's St. John Passion in the Frauenkirche Dresden.
In July 2022 he took on the role of Kezal in Smetana's Bartered Bride as a prizewinner at the Schloss Rheinsberg Chamber Opera.
Peter Fabig has been part of the Görlitz Theater ensemble since the 22/23 season.
