Mikhail Biryukov

The Russian bass-baritone Mikhail Biryukov is a graduate of the "Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre" in Moscow, where he performed many major roles in his repertoire from 2013 to 2016 ("Méphistophélès" in "Faust", "Leporello" and "Don Giovanni", "Escamillo" in "Carmen", "Colline" in "La Bohème", "Gremin" in "Eugene Onegin", among others).

Since 2020, he has pursued postgraduate studies at the "Royal College of Music Opera Studio" in London.

From 2022 to 2024, he was a member of the ensemble at the "Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden", where he appeared in roles such as "Monterone" ("Rigoletto"), "Surin" ("The Queen of Spades"), "Kuno" ("Der Freischütz"), "Zuniga" ("Carmen"), "The Mandarin" ("Turandot"), and "Reinmar von Zweter" ("Tannhäuser"), and also gave performances as a lieder interpreter. Since 2023, Mikhail Biryukov has been a regular guest at the "Staatstheater Mainz" and performed the role of "Hans Schwarz" ("Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg") at the "Bonn Opera".

In the 2024/25 season, he appeared as "Mamyrov" ("The Sorceress") at the "Frankfurt Opera".
