Anna Bondarenko

Soprano Anna Bondarenko was born in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine.
In 2014 she graduated with distinction from the A. V. Nezhdanova Odesa National Music Academy.

At the Academy’s Opera Studio she made her debut as Tatyana (Eugene Onegin).

From 2015 to 2019 she was a member of the Odesa Ukrainian Musical Drama Theater.

In October 2018 she debuted at the Odesa National Opera as Oksana in Hulak-Artemovsky’s Zaporozhets beyond the Danube.

From 2019 to 2022 Anna Bondarenko was a member of the ensemble at the Odesa National Opera.

She is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, including the O. Petrusenko All-Ukrainian Vocal Competition (Grand Prix) and the Competizione dell’Opera, Sochi 2019 (1st Prize).

In 2020 she debuted at the Latvian National Opera as Liza (The Queen of Spades).

After the beginning of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine she left her homeland and moved to Cluj-Napoca (Romania), where at the local opera she sang Tatyana and Leonora.

Since September 2022 she has been a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera, where she debuted as First Lady (The Magic Flute), Karolka (Jenůfa), Musetta, and Micaëla.

In the 2025/26 season at the Vienna State Opera she will be heard as Musetta, Micaëla, Nella, among others.
