
Constantine Derri

Born in Kryvyi Rig (Ukraine), Konstantin Derri began his musical career as a pianist, graduating from the Music College in his hometown.
In 2009 he moved to Valencia and studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Música with Ana Luisa Chova until 2014. He regularly attends master classes with Richard Levitt at the Academy of Early Music at the University of Salamanca.
He was the winner of the 2nd prize at the Cesti Competition in Innsbruck, the 1st prize at the “New Names” in Kiev and a finalist at the Ferruccio Tagliavini International Singing Competition in Deutschlandsberg.
On stage he appeared as Sorser/Spirit in “Dido and Aeneas” by Purcell at the Teatro Real Madrid and the Auditorio de Valencia. This was followed by Scorbio in “Le Nozze in sogno” by Cesti at the 40th Festival of Early Music in Innsbruck, Tolomeo in Handel’s “Giulio Cesare” at the Hamburg Chamber Opera, Tambaschio’s “Farinelli, el castrato del rey Felipe” at the Teatro del Canal Madrid, Luzeyo in Ferreira’s “El mayor triunfo de la mayor guerra” at the International Festival of Medieval and Baroque Music of Peñiscola, the title role in Handel’s “Rinaldo” at the Auditorio de Valencia and the Auditorio de Riba-Roja, Orfeo in Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice” at the Kiev Opera House, the Auditorio de Valencia and Odessa Opera House.
In Italy he made his debut in 2017 as Medoro in Vivaldi’s “Orlando furioso” at the Festival della Valle d’Itria conducted by Diego Fasolis and directed by Fabio Ceresa, and at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna in Dusapin’s “Medea Materials”.
In Russia he made his debut as Arcane in Handel’s “Teseo” at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow under the baton of Federico Sardelli.
In the 2017/18 season he sang as Eustazio in Handel’s “Rinaldo” at the Chemnitz Theater and in the Ludwigburg Palace Park. In June he sang in “Carmina Burana” at the Auditorio National de Madrid.
In the 2018/2019 season he sings at the Braunschweig Theater in Reimann’s “L’Invisible”, conducted by Srba Dinić and directed by Tatjana Gürbaca.
As a very sought-after concert singer, he has appeared at the Festival La Quincena Musical in San Sebastián, the Seville Festival, the Zaragoza Festival of Early Music, the Schloss Rheinsberg Chamber Opera Festival, the Palau de la Musica in Valencia, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Valencia, the Theater of ESCM Madrid, the LvivMozArt Festival, and Irun Opera.
