Sylwia Pietrzak

mezzo-soprano


Sylwia Pietrzak, a young Polish mezzo-soprano, was born in Tychy, Poland. She attended the music school in Katowice and continued her education at the Music Academy in Poznań, where she studied with Dr. hab. J. Kozłowska-Szczepaniak and Dr. hab. T. Zagórski. Later, she moved to Warsaw to study opera singing at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music under Dr. Magdalena Idzik. After completing her first master's degree with a focus on opera, she continued her studies in chamber music at the same university under Dr. hab. Prof. I. Kłosińska.


During her studies, she participated in various masterclasses and opera projects, including roles such as Olga and Maddalena.


Since autumn 2023, Sylwia has been pursuing her master's degree at the MSH in Nuremberg under the guidance of Prof. Susanne Kelling.


Thanks to the Lily Niblock Memorial Scholarship, she was able to prepare the roles of the Third Lady and Prince Orlofsky during the Berlin Opera Academy 2021.


She received special prizes at the 18th Immrich Godin Singing Competition and the International Jan Kiepura Vocal Competition in Krynica-Zdrój, Poland.


In 2023, she made her debut at the Warsaw Chamber Opera in the role of Mrs. Nolan in The Medium by G. C. Menotti.


In the 2023/24 season, she took part in the premiere of the opera Anna Karenina by D. Carlson at Theater Hof, where she performed the role of Dolly.


In the 2024/25 season, she will appear as Ottavia in The Coronation of Poppea at Theater Hof.
