Anika Paulick
soprano

The soprano Anika Paulick studied at the Leipzig University of Music and Theater with Prof. Elvira Dreßen. She successfully completed her master's degree in opera singing with Prof. Caroline Stein in February 2017. While she was still studying, she was hired as a permanent member of the ensemble at the Cottbus State Theater in the 2014/15 season. She has been a guest at the Leipzig Opera House since the 2012/13 season. In December 2015, she stepped in at short notice as Sandman and Dewman (“Hansel and Gretel”) at the Halle Opera. She created roles such as Ottilie (In the White Horse), Gretchen ("The Wildschütz"), Hannchen ("The Vetter from Dingsda"), Ännchen ("The Freischütz"), Primadonna assoluta ("Riemann Opera"), Freia ( “The Rhinegold”), 1st boy and Papagena (“The Magic Flute”), 5th maid (“Elektra”), 1st noble orphan (“Der Rosenkavalier”) and Manja (“Countess Mariza”).

She regularly performed with the Gewandhaus Orchestra at the Leipzig Opera. She has worked with conductors such as Ulf Schirmer, Matthias Foremny, Christoph Gedschold, Ivo Hentschel, Evan Christ, Howard Arman and Anthony Bramall and directors such as Anthony Pilavachi, Ansgar Weigner, Matthias Oldag, Steffen Piontek, Martin Student and Matthias Winter. Anika Paulick was also a soloist at the Classic Open Air at the Berlin Gendarmenmarkt and at the Leipzig Operetta Ball and played in concerts with the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra and the Vogtlandphilharmonie Greiz/Reichenbach, among others.

She has given concerts as a soprano soloist with Mozart's "Requiem", Bach's "Christmas Oratorio", Pergolesi's "Stabat mater", Haydn's "Missa in angusti-is", Vivaldi's "Gloria in D" to Rome, Vienna, Berlin, Danzig, Bruges, Erfurt, Dresden and Leipzig.

In 2016 she was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association in Leipzig and in 2017 she was a prizewinner of the Schloss Rheinsberg Chamber Opera. In 2013 and 2017 she was awarded sponsorship prizes as part of the International Saxon Singer Academy. In parallel to her singing studies, Anika Paulick completed teaching studies in German and history at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Leipzig, which she completed with a Master of Education.

In 2018, Anika Paulick sang the role of Despina at the Rheinsberg Chamber Opera. In the same year she made her debut in the role of Alba in the premiere of the opera "A Bad Man's Life" by Marc-Aurel Floros and Frank Matthus at the Narva Opera Festival, Estonia.
