The baritone Jaegyeong Jo was born in Korea, where he completed his first musical studies. He earned his bachelor's degree in singing from the Honam Theological University. In Korea, Jo was heard in numerous concerts with works such as Handel's Messiah. On the opera stage you could see him in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini or in Verdi's Rigoletto. A particular highlight was playing the lead role in 'Il barbiere di Siviglia' by G. Rossini.

In 2014, Jo sang various roles in various operas. He appeared as the Judge of Richmond in 'Martha' by Friedrich von Flotow at the Theater 'Bühnen der Stadt Gera' in Altenburg, and as Hatter, Pat, Turtle in 'Alice in Wonderland' by J. Harneit in the same theater. On the stage of the theater in Erfurt he sang Ceprano in 'Rigoletto' by G. Verdi, and Marcello in G. Puccini's 'La Bohème' at the 'Opernfestival Burg Warberg' and Schaunard in the same work in the theater 'Bühnen der Stadt Gera' in Altenburg. At the Hannover University of Music, Theater and Media (HMTMH) he sang Mr. Fluth in 'The Merry Women of Windsor' by O. Nicolai.

In 2015, Jo was awarded the first prize of the 'Competizione dell'Opera' in Linz, Austria and the special prize of the Maritim Competition in Lübeck, Germany. In 2017, Jo received the Mozart Prize at the '54th International Competition Francesc Vinãs' in Barcelona, Spain. In the same year he was awarded fourth prize at the 'International Competition Ferruccio Tagliavini' in Deutschlandsberg, Austria.

Jo has lived in Germany since 2012. After completing his master's degree in singing in Professor Marina Sandel's class at the Hannover University of Music, Theater and Media in 2014, he continues to study the solo class course. In the last university production he appeared as Maurrant in Weill's 'Street Scene' and sang one of the main roles. From 2014 to 2015, Jo worked at the Thuringian Opera Studio in Weimar.
